At O’Connells we really love Christmas. Christmas 2011 will be our 13th Christmas.
The buzz gets greater each year as we plan from early summer for those bustling December weeks.
We are traditionalists ....
- Holly – Green with shiny Red Berries and of course some carefully guarded Variegated Holly (source un-disclosed)!
- Pine Cones are collected each Autumn in Wicklow’s Forests for our Christmas arrangements
- Lots of Red Candles and Red Ribbon
- Hanging Christmas Wreaths and Clove studded Oranges
- Mulled Wine
- Real Roast on the bone Turkeys – Brown and White Meat
- Free-Range Tipperary Ham from T J Crowe in Dundrum
- Great Stuffing
- Home-Made Cranberry & Bread Sauce
- For Our Christmas Plum Puddings we bow to the greatness of The Benedictine Nuns of Kylemore Abbey in Connemara
- Grandma O’Connells Christmas Sherry Trifle is the icing on the cake! Many pounds are gained, and much Sherry consumed each November getting the recipe just right for our Christmas Tasting Lunch in November.
Booking Procedure
- Since 1999, O'Connells has made it our business to give you the customer what you want. Please let us know how you would like you lunch party. We will invariably be able to do just that.
- Reservations will be accepted by telephone, by email and in person. Within 14 days, a deposit of €250.00 is required to secure your booking. This deposit is refundable if the cancellation is made within seven days of the deposit being paid.
- O'Connells Restaurant and The Belmont Room will be traditionally decorated for Christmas. If desired, a Christmas Cracker will be laid at each place setting. If for what-ever reason The Belmont Room is not available, bookings will be allocated to the Main Dining Room.
- We recommend pre-selecting wines. This makes things more efficient on arrival and helps to keep your budget to the level you wish.
- An area will be reserved before in the bar area (if required) for your party.
- At O'Connells we provide a personalised menu for each party with the inscription of your choice and a logo if desired.
- Parking - See the Location Map on our web site. There is ample on-street Parking in our immediate area particularly in the streets almost opposite O'Connells ... Victoria Avenue; Auburn Avenue; Brendan Road; Morehampton Road - along The Shopping Parade and beyond The Fire Station at The Entrance to The Crescent and Mount Eden Road.
- Finally, may we remind you ‘nothing is set in stone', quite simply let us know what you wish to have. We will be delighted to respond.
