Milestones
On August 2nd, 1999 Tom O'Connell & Rory O’Connell combined their experience to bring Dublin a bright, airy and modern restaurant with exceptional food - offering value for money at all times of the day.
On October 31st, 2008 Tom took his Restaurant ‘from whence he came’ ... into the heart of Ballsbridge to The D4 Berkeley Hotel (formerly The Berkeley Court Hotel) on Lansdowne Road.
O'CONNELLS in Ballsbridge has been listed since the Year 2000 in the ‘Bridgestone Best In Ireland Guide’ and in Georgina Campbell's Guides.
O'CONNELLS is an independent restaurant offering the very best of Irish ingredients at Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, 363 days a year.
We bake our own Breads & Pastries and only use the finest of Irish meats and fish.
Our food Producers have been our difference over the years:
- Beef is Irish Hereford Prime
- Lamb is from Irish Country Meats, Camolin, Co Wexford
- Pork is free-range from T. J. Crowe, Co Tipperary
- Ducks are from The Steele Family in Co Monaghan
- Organic Chicken is by Mrs O’Regan in Co Wexford
- A recent great find is Nora O’Grady’s, Inch House Black Pudding (Thurles, Co Tipperary)
- Bill Casey’s Shanagarry Smoked Organic Irish Salmon
- Bacon for our warm salad is Fingal Ferguson’s Smoked Gubbeen Bacon
Capacity
O'CONNELLS restaurant has a seating capacity of 160 persons with additional summer seating. The restaurant has a good variety of table arrangements from cosy banquettes to ten tables along the window and private areas for larger parties. Since November 2008, in our new location, we can offer The Berkeley Room, one of Dublin's legendary restaurants, for private dining up to 60 persons.
